Lab Host Fellows Program

What is the PEBC Lab Host Fellows Program?

‘Seeing is believing’ has been a tenet of the Public Education & Business Coalition (PEBC) since its founding and the work we do as an organization has always centered on what happens at the classroom level. For over four decades, we have provided professional learning for new and practicing educators focused on teaching for agency and understanding. In our work, we strive to foster communities of practice that model the kind of learning experiences that we want all our students to experience in the classroom each day.

PEBC Lab Classrooms are a key component of our professional learning model, creating space for participants to learn from the work lab hosts are doing in their classrooms in order to enhance their own practice. Our Lab Host Fellows Program offers leadership pathways for teacher leaders to become PEBC Lab Hosts sharing the ways they build classroom communities where each and every student has the chance to achieve at the highest levels. Fellows are part of a community of learners who meet throughout the school year to share their experiences, support each other, and expand their teaching repertoire.

The common thread among PEBC Lab Host Fellows is that they have a desire to be part of a scholarly, collegial community committed to ensuring all students achieve at high levels. Throughout the year-long process, Fellows maintain a reflective stance as they seek new learning, refine instructional decisions, and examine their impact on student achievement. Fellows read and apply research-based best practices to their work to their classroom. Fellows are open to collaborate with colleagues and are willing to have colleagues observe their work with learners.
