Carrie Halbasch has 34 years of experience as a classroom teacher in early childhood. Her passion for, and commitment to, the facilitation of learning through exploration and discovery is what makes her teaching stand out. She has used the workshop model of math instruction for most of her career and now trains teachers, teams, schools and districts on how to use the workshop model to create learning environments where young students work together to share their thinking as they problem solve and discover who they are as mathematicians. Her students develop strong number sense as they learn how to see math everywhere, monitor for meaning, name their thinking, discuss what they understand, and explain how they know what they know. When you see Carrie teach, you'll see students "touching and talking math" as she facilitates their newfound learning. It is her belief that she is there to guide and gently nudge learners as they grow into independent thinkers and meaning makers.
In her free time, Carrie loves to read a good suspense or fantasy novel with lots of twists and turns. She not only strengthens her mind by staying up on the latest teaching techniques, she is also physically active. Carrie is an avid walker and hiker. She loves to go on mountain hikes with her two adult daughters as often as she can. Carrie has also found a lot of joy in the pickle ball and Orange Theory communities. Her cats bring her laughter and snuggles while she embraces her newest journey being retired, where she can begin her own exploration and discovery.

Kirsten has spent the last 25 years teaching students and adults in Colorado, the Carolinas, and New York City. She spent COVID smiling and singing through a screen at 30 six year olds and completed a remote field day with fly swatters, pots and pans. Outside of the classroom, Kirsten facilitates several institutes including: Phenomenal Teaching, Making Workshop Work, Minds On Math and Foundations in Numeracy. She brings her experience as an elementary and middle school teacher, Dean, Instructional Coach and Staff Developer. She is passionate about building relationships and communities that foster trust, identity and joy.
Kirsten earned a masters degree from Teachers College at Columbia University and a bachelors from Regis University. Despite her severe horse allergy, Kirsten is often the loudest cheerleader at her daughter’s rodeos and her son’s hockey and baseball games. She’s a proud fantasy nerd and believes that dragons might be real.
