Summer Seminar: Engage Students for True Learning

In this seminar, we will discuss ways to identify if students are merely compliant, somewhat motivated, or truly engaged. We’ll discuss what constitutes genuine engagement and learn how students demonstrate their level of engagement in the classroom.

Gone are the days when we would “motivate” students with extrinsic rewards. Students do not respond to extrinsic rewards in the ways we have long believed, and if they do respond, the results are fleeting and the learning temporary.

Together, we’ll examine over twenty ways students show us that they’re truly engaged and learn four straight-forward tools teachers can use to be great models of true engagement for students.
