“Strong model for metacognition and problem solving in math.”
“Great way to encapsulate how to teach math in a very discourse friendly environment.”
“Fantastic training. Lots to think about and bring back to the classroom.”
These are just a few of the very positive evaluation responses we received from participants at this month’s Minds on Math Institute in Durango. We spent two days exploring the question, “How do we teach math for understanding?” Attendees included K – 12 teachers from eight Colorado districts, as well as one group from Utah.
Here’s some more data we collected:
- 96% of participants reported an increase in their capacity to teach for understanding.
- 98% of participants would recommend this institute to others.
- 100% of participants agreed that the facilitators were knowledgeable and well prepared.
Our next Minds on Math Institute will be December 3 and 4 at our new home on the Clayton campus in Denver. An optional lab day is available December 5. Click here to learn more and to register!
